Pasha Turley

G. Pasha Turley earned her BA from the UC Santa Barbara and her MA from San Diego State University. She served as a full time art and photography professor at Southwestern College in Chula Vista, CA. until she retired. Currently she is an adjunct teacher for MFA students enrolled in Vermont College who reside in San Diego and do their studio work with her in San Diego. Her award winning artwork has been exhibited in over 150 exhibitions and appears in textbook, magazines, and journals. Pasha is the recipient of numerous grants including a California Art Council Grant, Fulbright-Hays Grant, and a San Diego Foundation Grant. She often serves as a juror for exhibitions and has acted as an art consultant. Besides making art, her other passions are travel and sailing. She has owned three sailboats and has raced and cruised in Hawaii, Mexico, and the Caribbean. She trekked in Nepal, Brazil, Peru, and backpacked throughout South America and has lived in Mexico, Japan, and Europe. Pasha is known as being an adventurer in both her art and in her life.

Recipient of a Fulbright-Hays Grant, San Diego Community Foundation Grant, California Art Council Grant, National Endowment for the Humanities Project Participant Grant. Honors include, Woman of Distinction Award Southwestern College, Phenomenal Woman Award Southwestern College, Recipient of Calf. Great Teachers Seminar Award. Recognition Award for 50, “Movers and Shakers” Community Contributors in San Diego, Reader Magazine, Public Art Advisor, appointed by San Diego Board of Supervisors, Invitational speaker for 44th. International Fulbright Conference 1999, Berlin, Germany.

Selected Awards: 

2015  San Diego Museum of Art Art Guild selected a 100 artists for the  100 year celebration of Balboa Park,CA.  Artists were chosen thought out the 100 years and i was honored as one of the artists.

2012 Jan.-present Glendale Adventist Hospital 2 images were purchased to be on permanent display, Glendale, CA.
